Cristina Hobbs and Kyle Hanlin met at O’Malley’s in Raleigh in 2006, and within months were joined at the hip, happy in love! Years down the road, Kyle planned a Chapel Hill proposal using their best friend’s son, Franklin, as bait to lure Cristina unsuspectingly to the Coker Arbouretum for an afternoon visit. Franklin and his parents never arrived, but Cristina quickly forgot about that when Kyle suddenly dropped to one knee and proposed.
Cristina and Kyle began planning their wedding for summer 2011. They only visited a couple of venues before checking out Solas, one of Raleigh’s hottest night clubs and event venues. They weren’t two steps out of Solas when Cristina said, “This is the place.”
Kyle says,“Along with our venue, the best decision we made was hiring Sally Oakley to be our wedding coordinator. She really brought a calm to Cristina’s mind and was very thorough.”
Sally helped Cristina and Kyle bring their lime green and black color scheme to life. Their stunning floral arrangements were complemented with details such as mini cupcakes and a candy bar. This couple values rock music and has spent a lot of time going to concerts together, so made the event personalized by incorporating “Rock N Roll” into their wedding music and vibe.
This rockin” couple currently resides in Raleigh. Kyle is the Manager of Media Relations/Broadcast Coordinator for the Carolina Hurricanes, and Cristina is a New Home Consultant for Lennar at their flagship community in Raleigh. Congrats to the newlyweds!
