| Brooke and Borden Sometimes friends know best! Brooke Owen and Borden Hooks met through friends, and hit it off immediately. Though Brooke’s hometown is Wilmington, the couple decided to marry in Pinehurst due to Borden’s love of golf and Brooke’s fondness for the area and the Village Chapel. A springtime wedding ensured a beautiful backdrop for the entire fun-filled weekend. Following a traditional Chapel ceremony, the couple was whisked away in a horse and carriage to the tented, lakeside reception at the Country Club of North Carolina. A lively band kept the bride, groom and guests on their feet dancing for hours, with the newly wedded couple leading the way with shag dancing. Brooke is our 2008 Winter/Spring cover bride.
