Real Weddings – Catie and Josh

Catie and Josh

Romantic Rose Hill Wedding

September 24, 2011

During the Christmas season while Josh Lewter and Catie Boatman were hosting his family and her mother over for dinner, Josh asked Catie to search under the tree for the new ornament he purchased. Catie found a big diamond ring ornament that said, “Engaged Christmas 2009″ buried beneath the other presents at the very back of the tree, and turned around to find Josh on one knee with the real thing!

They both knew they wanted an outdoor wedding in a beautiful setting. Catie and Josh fell in love with Rose Hill Plantation‘s historic venue and its gorgeous outdoor scenery that includes a gazebo by the water with a fountain and pair of swans, lush landscapes and flowering bushes. Their colors were black and white with touches of bright pink – down to his socks and her vibrant shoes. Catie’s bouquet had photo charms cascading by ribboned ties that represented each of their loved ones who had passed away, symbolizing the spirit of their presence with them on their day.  During their ceremony that was presided over by Josh’s youth minister, they mixed black, white and pink sands into a shadow box that they now have as a keepsake in their home.

During the reception, the magnificent ballroom with cherry floors and a 20 foot ceiling. was highlighted with pink lighting and a GOBO light of Catie and Josh’s names. As you look at the reception images and the tall, lush arrangements, it’s easy to see why Catie mentioned that Lyn Graves from Fresh Affairs was amazing and that her consultant, Angie Wright of Chic Details was instrumental in the wonderful wedding. Catie also complimented Neal Zipser of ShutterBooth and Ryan Pflumm from Island Sound. Catie said that they could never thank their mothers enough for all their help and making the wedding possible.

Catie and Josh are both from the Fuquay area and reside there.
