Real Weddings – Megan & Paul

Megan & Paul

November 7

Megan Ferrara and Paul Tuorto were high school sweethearts. They dated 7 years before Paul proposed in the middle of Wolman Rink in New York City’s Central Park. Pretending to lean down and tie his iceskates, Paul proposed to his best friend.

Both being originally from New York, Megan and Paul knew their wedding had to be out-of-town-friendly. The Renaissance Raleigh North Hills Hotel provided the ideal venue for guests – contemporary, new and spacious. After an 11AM ceremony, the newly weds allowed time for guests to relax and explore Raleigh before the evening reception.

A classic color scheme with contemporary accents adorned the recption. The bridesmaids wore plum and the groomsmen doned black with skinny ties. Fresh Affairs’ floral design brought extra flair to the reception, the flowers were all white, with gold-covered palm leaves sprouting from the centerpieces.

Megan gave special kudos to Megan Gillikin of A Southern Soiree, who at that time was the events manager at the Renaissance, and helped plan Megan and Paul’s wedding. Megan made sure “everything went even better than planned at the reception.”

After dancing the night away, guests enjoyed a Sunday brunch before departing the following day. The newlyweds both work in the Raleigh area and would love to eventually move to an NC beach.
