Our Story

Michelle and Joseph met on a blind date set up by a mutual friend and immediately felt a spark.

When Joseph popped the question in November, the couple had exactly three months (to the day!) to plan their February wedding. Michelle fell in love with the understated elegance of Highgrove on Laurel Lake and knew it was the perfect place for their wedding. With Highgrove being a full-service facility, the soon-to-be Anfusos were able to pull off a glamorous wedding in just 12 weeks.

Joseph’s father officiated a beautiful outdoor ceremony. The couple exchanged vows while their guests cozied up under fleece blankets gifted by the bride and groom.

For Joseph, the best part of the day was “watching in awe as my bride walked down the aisle. I don’t think I took a breath of air until she was by my side!”

The wedding was followed by a reception in the Garden Ballroom, where menus and table scrolls from Paper Cafe decorated the tables. Jason Huggins of Island Sound DJs serenaded the guests, including Michelle’s 89-year-old grandmother, who made the trip from Smithfield, VA, for her granddaughter’s big day. “I wasn’t sure she would be able to make it, but she did and she had a ball!” Michelle said.

Renee Sprink Photography perfectly depicted the events of the day. “She made us feel so comfortable and captured every detail of our wedding to reveal a love story with very unique, personal and gorgeous pictures,” Michelle said.
