Engagement Sessions

The E-Session is SO hot right now… And with good reason!

The engagement photo shoot commemorates the most special time between a couple! For most, this is the first time a couple has ever had a series of photographs taken of them, and surely its the first go-round with a professional photographer. This is a time for the happy hubby and wife-to-be to get comfortable both with their photographer, and in front of the camera. And the results? Several framers of you and your fiance that can be used on your Save-The-Dates, in your Wedding Guest Book, as gifts to the in-laws, or just for your own enjoyment (FB Profile Pic!).

This photo-shoot is all about the couple. Yes, the wedding day is about the couple too, but no matter how hard you try to schedule those newlywed shots on your wedding day, there will be less time to focus, and way more adrenaline rushing through you and driving you to get into that reception! If you have had an E-session, not only do you have to stress about getting as many shots together, but you will make more efficient use of the time you do have, because your photographer already understands how to work with you as a couple! So throw that E-session into your photography package – it will definitely be worth it!

Lauren & Nick Engagement Announcement

Happy New Year!

December is one of the biggest months for new engagements, so as we ease into the new year, SB&G wanted to share one engagement story.

Lauren Hobson & Nicholas Bradley met through a mutual friend who is also one of the bride’s of her maids of honor, Courtney Gibson. In 2007, Lauren’s UNC sorority was having a date function in which friends set up your date. Courtney set Lauren up with her friend Nick, a NC State sophomore. Lauren and Nick had a great time at the party. A few days later on Valentine’s Day, Nick drove to Lauren’s sorority house with a dozen roses and candy. They set up an official date, and the rest is history!

Nick and Lauren took a weekend trip to The Lodge at Lake Lure, NC, in July 2011. On their first night, the couple walked through a path in the woods to the boathouse, which offered them privacy and an amazing view of the lake, perfect for a romantic proposal. Here, Nick patiently waited as Lauren took photos of the scenery, before getting down on one knee and asking the big question! Once engaged, the happy couple had dinner at the lodge, and enjoyed a celebratory weekend together.

Lauren and Nick are planning their September 2012 wedding, which will take place at the First Baptist Church of Raleigh, followed by a reception at the Sheraton Raleigh Hotel. Nick currently lives in Charlotte and works as an audit associate for Deloitte. Lauren is in Chapel Hill, finishing up my third year of law school at Carolina. After graduation she will begin her career as an attorney by clerking for Judge Cheri Beasley at the NC Court of Appeals in downtown Raleigh. They will be living in Raleigh after we get married. Congrats to the happy couple!

Happy Planning Jessica and Colby!

Jessica Davis and Colby Strickland’s childhood friendship turned into a 12-year romance before Colby popped the question in April. SB&G wanted to help celebrate their engagement by sharing their story and treating them to a dinner at Caffé Luna in downtown Raleigh on us!

After buying a ring in October, Colby decided to wait for Jessica’s newly engaged best friend to marry before stealing the spotlight. The couple had previously planned for Colby’s cousin Kelly to take some fun photographs of them, and this made for the perfect proposal plot! The Friday after Jessica’s best friend married, the couple headed out for the photographs. It had been raining all day, but stopped right before they were supposed to meet for pictures at sunset. The scenery was rain-kissed and the light from the sunset made a picture perfect proposal for Jessica and Colby.

SB&G wishes the new engaged couple happy planning and hopes they will use all of our resources in the process. Congrats!
