I had the privilege of attending one of the 57,000 weddings that took place on 11/11/11.

And even better, the couple – my brother-in-law, Brian and new sister-in-law, Katie – tied the knot in THE city of weddings: Las Vegas!

The ceremony was at the wedding chapel at the Mandalay Bay, a beautiful hotel/casino on the famous “Strip” of Las Vegas Blvd. The quick ceremony was especially fun and memorable due to the fact that Elvis showed up to sing a tune to welcome the couple in and also send them off as newly weds with well-wishes.

Following the ceremony, we headed over to Mix at The Hotel (part of Mandalay), a swanky restaurant on the 64th story of the hotel. Katie and Brian reserved the balcony, which towered over the strip and the lights of Vegas with an incredible view. Guests enjoyed hors d”oeuvres including chicken satay, sliders, sesame filet mignon, crab bites and tuna; wine and champagne; and a delicious Vegas-themed wedding cake.

Following the reception,Katie and Brian invited guests to enjoy bottle service in a private room at LAX nightclub at the Luxor Hotel & Casino. Friends and family enjoyed the private room overlooking the dance floor. Let”s just say the newest married Olenders knew how to do a Vegas wedding right!
