It’s Wedding Feature Wednesday at Southern Bride & Groom! Today, we’re sharing Danielle and Thomas’s beautiful fall NC wedding at Highgrove in Fuquay-Varina, with stunning photographs by Neil Boyd Photography.
Danielle and Thomas met in their high school English class and immediately felt a unique connection. They began dating and continued their relationship long distance after they went off to college in two different cities — Danielle to Johnson & Wales in Charlotte, and Thomas to East Carolina in Greenville. Five years later, they bought a house together and Thomas popped the question! On November 11, 2012, the high school sweethearts said “I do!” in a sweet fall wedding at Highgrove in Fuquay-Varina.
They selected the Highgrove because they wanted to bring Southern Charm to their Northern Italian-style wedding. Danielle and Thomas’s elegant but natural feel (to tie in the groom’s love of all things outdoors) was carried out through a color palette of gold, cream and moss green, which was seen in the beautiful floral arrangements, the green linens and classic white details. The look perfectly complemented Highgrove‘s gorgeous space and the colorful North Carolina fall foliage.
After a decadent Italian meal, the couple and their guests enjoyed a towering wedding cake and dessert bar from Sweet Memories, where Danielle works, before dancing the night away!
The bride’s advice to engaged girls is to “choose your vendors wisely and be sure to use reputable vendors, it makes a big difference! If you don’t have a lot of time, hire a wedding planner, wedding planning takes a lot of time.” Danielle and Thomas used many members of the SB&G Family to make their big day exactly as they’d pictured, including: Highgrove, Crave, Neil Boyd Photography, the bride’s stunning Pronovias gown from Lana Addison Bridal, Sweet Memories, Party Reflections and Shutterbooth.
Check out these breathtaking photos captured by Neil Boyd Photography, and join us in extending a huge congratulations to Danielle and Thomas — y’alls wedding as magical!

It’s Wedding Feature Wednesday at Southern Bride & Groom! Today, we’re excited to share Sarah and Daniel’s Real Vintage Raleigh, NC Wedding at All Saints Chapel, photographed by Revival Photography.
Sarah and Daniel — a wonderful couple with such huge hearts — married over the summer in a beautiful, vintage-inspired wedding. They held both their ceremony and reception at the historic All Saints Chapel in Downtown Raleigh, which was built in 1875. The venue provided the perfect complement to the vintage theme, and the photos from Revival Photography are absolutely breathtaking — seriously, wait ’til you see the father-daughter reveal…so unbelievably sweet! After the bride and her ‘maids finished getting ready, they took a trip to Pullen Park for some fun outdoor photos, while the groom and his guys headed to NC State’s campus. Afterwards, the couple met up at All Saints to tie the knot and celebrate with their friends and family with dancing and delicious food from The Q Shack.
We love all of the unique details, from the sweet fan programs and family photos to the bride’s retro shoes and the groom’s Southern style — this wedding is simply fantastic!

It’s Wedding Feature Wednesday at Southern Bride & Groom! Today, we’re excited to share Clair and Seth’s unique big day — they tied the knot at Edenton Street United Methodist Church, and celebrated afterwards at a totally unique reception venue — a restored warehouse. Enjoy photos of today’s Downtown Raleigh urban warehouse wedding, courtesy of Renee Sprink Photography!
Clair and Seth met when her mom hired him to cook for Clair’s birthday. Seth ended up hanging around after the party ended to visit with Clair’s family, and most definitely caught her eye! He continued to cook for several of the family’s private dinner parties, and even tutored Clair’s little sister. From there, Clair and Seth’s friendship developed and slowly evolved into true love.
Seth planned a sweet proposal that included both his and Clair’s families. He took Clair up to a rooftop bar, and when she looked down, she saw her dad and sister. When she looked at Seth confused, he told her it was because it was a special day, and dropped to one knee! Of course, Clair said yes, and the couple celebrated their engagement with their families before heading off to a romantic dinner for two.
They tied the knot at their church, Edenton Street United Methodist Church, and celebrated afterwards with a reception in a renovated urban warehouse in Downtown Raleigh. The couple felt that most of the reception spaces they visited just didn’t “fit” right, so they went a totally unique route and chose a private space that they could customize to their taste! Because it was such an unconventional reception space, the couple and their vendors had to get creative and invest a lot of work, but it turned out beautifully.
Clair was inspired by Kate Spade’s classic, preppy designs, and the two decided to plan their wedding around that sort of theme, complimented by a black, white and gold color palette. They used black and white striped table cloths, and accented the space with lots of gold details. The couple selected Renee Sprink Photography after Clair fell in love with her images from a close friend’s wedding, and other members of the SB&G Family helped make their wedding day perfect, including CE Rental and Island Sound.

It’s Wedding Feature Wednesday at Southern Bride & Groom, and today we’ve got a gorgeous Real Triangle, NC Wedding to share with y’all — Dan and Courtney’s bright, May nuptials at The Hudson Manor with beautiful photos from The Image Mill!
Dan and Courtney met on a blind date set up by his cousin, and immediately felt a unique connection. Since they lived about two hours apart, the couple began alternating weekends so that they could see each other as much as possible. When Dan and Courtney travelled to Oklahoma to visit her family (and for him to meet them for the first time!), Dan arranged for a romantic afternoon together in Oklahoma City. He distracted her with taking a picture, and while she was looking at the camera, he got down on one knee. Of course, she said yes, and they began planning their May 2013 wedding!
They met with Melissa at The Hudson Manor and instantly knew that it was the right place to tie the knot. “The Hudson Manor had a package deal that included almost everything for one price. I loved that! It made wedding planning so much easier and more fun!” the bride said.
The couple decided on a color palette of aqua, grey, black and white, which complimented the elegance of the venue perfectly. They also used several members of the SB&G Family to make their big day exactly as they’d pictured it, including The Hudson Manor and CE Rental.

Katherine and Landon met while walking their dogs around their neighborhood. Landon surprised Katherine one Friday afternoon with an incredibly romantic proposal, complete with rose petals! Of course, she said yes, and the couple began planning their June 2013 wedding.

They chose a classic black and white palette with pops of color — like bright pink flowers! It’s Wedding Wednesday at Southern Bride & Groom! Today, we’re sharing Melissa and Cory’s sweet, quintessentially Southern Real Raleigh, NC wedding at the NC State University Club in June.
Melissa and Cory met while working as restaurant servers during college. He went to NC State, she went to UNC, and they worked at Rudino’s, a sports bar halfway between their respective schools. The two quickly became friends, but it took them an entire year before deciding to officially begin dating and become a couple.
Melissa and Cory were both finishing up a semester of law school, which happened to be right around Melissa’s birthday. Cory had always taken her out for a birthday celebration, but he suggested waiting until the following day so she could commit to her studies. After her exam, Melissa went to her parent’s house and found Cory waiting for her! He handed her an envelope that contained tickets to the Nutcracker ballet for the following evening. He told her he was going to get dressed up, so she should, too. The two went out to dinner at one of their favorite local restaurants, 42nd Street Oyster Bar, where Cory had first told Melissa that he loved her three years prior, and then went to see the ballet. On the way home, Cory suggested that they stop by Rudino’s to see some friends. When they arrived, he took her to the restaurant’s porch, where they had first met. He’d set up a table covered in candles and roses. He got down on one knee, and popped the question! Of course, Melissa said yes! The couple went back to Melissa’s parents house, where Cory’s family joined them to celebrate their engagement.
The couple tied the knot at Melissa’s parent’s church, Fairmont United Methodist, followed by a reception at the NC State University Club. Melissa and Cory’s wedding paid homage to the couple’s home state of North Carolina, and was celebrated in quintessential Southern style with a color scheme of pale Tiffany blue and bright geranium pink. The color palette was carried out through the stunning florals — arrangements of hydrangeas, spray roses, Queen Anne’s lace, and chamomile daisies — the beautiful bridesmaids dresses, the boy’s ties, and soft table linens. Melissa’s mother actually made the couple’s wedding cake herself, and wait ’til you see the pictures, it’s a beauty! The couple also had strawberry jam that they made as wedding favors for their guests.
Melissa changed into a white going-away dress for the grand exit and wore a corsage her mother had made, just as she had done at her wedding years prior. Enjoy the couple’s stunning photographs, courtesy of Wake Forest Portrait Shoppe!
