Altar Ego: A Fashion Show
This is an exciting week for anyone in Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill who LOVES fashion!
Altar Ego Fashion is an event that Tre Bella Bridal has been producing for several years (see photos from past event HERE). It is a showcase of bridal, bridesmaid, menswear, and general boutique fashion in our Raleigh-Durham area.
This year’s event will be THIS SATURDAY, March 31, at the Washington Duke Inn in Durham. The event (6pm-11pm) will be a full evening of entertainment – with inspirational themed table displays, food & drinks, and even a live swing band! The culmination will of course be an unforgettable fashion show. CLICK HERE FOR YOUR TICKETS TO THIS EVENT!
Southern Bride & Groom is a proud sponsor of Altar Ego Fashion. We were thrilled to appear today on NBC-17′s My Carolina Today, at Tre Bella’s bridal salon in Durham, to show off a couple of examples of bridal trends you will see this weekend, and to discuss the Altar Ego Fashion event!

Girls Night Out Bridal Bash at Sparians
Last fall, SB&G threw a “Girls’ Night Out” party for bride-to-be Lauren, in one of Sparians’ private bowling rooms, the perfect setting for an intimate get-together or even a rehearsal dinner or wedding event. SB&G and A Southern Soiree planned this party with the help of a fabulous team of vendors. The party was themed for the 60′s, with a coral and turquoise color theme.
Maria Scheel Invitations & More created glitzy custom invitations that were sent to the bride and her guests. The English Garden Florist created wall mod-chic wall decor and bowling ball topiaries. Sparians served signature pink cocktails, and heavy hors d’oeuvres, and Gigi’s Cupcakes provided cupcakes that looked like actual bowling balls! Island Sound enhanced the ambiance with special lighting, and entertained the group of gals with 60′s mod live music. We also played old episodes of “Laverne & Shirley” on the Sparians’ TV screens to add to the theme!
F8 Photo Studios photographed the event, which was featured in SB&G 2012 on pages 70-71. Their sister video company, F8 in Motion, filmed the special occasion, and we’re happy to share that video with you here. Enjoy!
Lauren and Zach Heath were married on October 29, 2011. Congrats!

SB&G gives Wedding Planning Tips on My Carolina Today/ NBC-17
Southern Bride & Groom magazine’s Publisher Donna Parks, and Sales/Production Manager Jenna Parks Olender, had the chance to appear on NBC-17′s My Carolina Today this morning, on the “Going to the Chapel” segment.
As December is the month that brings the most engagements, My Carolina Today asked us to come on the show to give some tips to the newly-engaged. There is much to discuss on where to begin with the sometimes overwhelming job of planning that special day! We gave just a couple of practical tips, and a heads-up on the two big shows that are approaching this weekend: Forever Bridal’s Wedding Show at the Raleigh Convention Center this Friday night (4-9pm) and Saturday (10am-4pm); and The Carolina Inn’s Bridal Showcase from 1-4pm on Sunday.
