Today we’re excited to share a Real North Carolina Wedding Videography post featuring Sara and Adam’s wedding at Bellamy Mansion in Wilmington, NC shot by Life Stage Films.
Sara and Adam scheduled a trip to New Orleans a few months before Adam planned to propose. One of Sara’s friends mentioned that she thought Adam would pop the question while they were in NOLA, so Sara got incredibly excited and put tremendous meaning on the trip. Needless to say, Adam didn’t propose while they were down South, and the groom now says that the ride back to Raleigh from New Orleans was the longest, quietest 13 hours of his life! A few weeks later, in May, Adam and Sara took a trip to Oak Island, a beach that held many special memories for the couple. There, he asked Sara to marry him — a total shock to her! Of course, Sara said yes, and the couple began planning their June 2013 wedding at Bellamy Mansion in Wilmington.
The couple wed in a beautiful open air ceremony, with a color palette of soft pinks and ivory, and celebrated afterwards with their friends and family.
Check out their sweet wedding video, shot by Life Stage Films, and congratulations to Sara and Adam — your wedding was beautiful!

It’s that time of the week again! Today’s North Carolina wedding videography feature is from Ginny and Ben’s sweet, Southern nuptials last October. Twenty-One Films did a fantastic job of capturing the little moments throughout the couple’s big day. Check out Ginny and Ben’s beautiful love story and gorgeous wedding film!
Ginny and Ben met in graduate school at Appalachian State University — he was a year ahead of her, but they were in the same program. The two first laid eyes on each other at their program’s orientation picnic, and continued to hang out into the evening, bonding over a love of Friday Night Lights, cheese dip, and secret chili recipes. Their first few dates were spent with Ben proving himself as a chili master, and Ginny was completely hooked!
To celebrate Ginny’s upcoming graduation and Ben’s new job, the couple took a trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico. The second morning they were there, Ben asked Ginny to get up early to watch the sunrise with him. He had the ring in his pocket, took it out just as the sun was beginning to peek over the horizon, and asked Ginny to marry him! Of course, she said yes, and the duo spent the rest of the day smiling (a lot!), planning out whom to call first, and relaxing on the beach!
The couple tied the knot in the bride’s hometown of Wilson, NC — the ceremony was held in the church she grew up attending, and the reception was under a gorgeous tent in her parent’s back yard (she even got ready in her childhood room!). With a classic comfort theme and awesome Southern cuisine (including a grilled cheese bar, y’all!), Ginny and Ben celebrated their love with their entire family and all of their friends.
Twenty-One Films did an amazing job capturing Ginny and Ben’s big day, and we’re over the moon for how sweet this video is!

It’s that time of the week again! Today, our video feature is a truly stunning Indian/Taiwanese fusion wedding at Rose Hill Plantation in Nashville, NC shot by Life Stage Films.
Life Stage Films — one of the Top 25 Filmmakers in the world — captured Andrew and Dhruti’s beautiful (and we mean beautiful, y’all!) Indian fusion wedding at Rose Hill Plantation, a stunning Southern estate in Nashville’s countryside. The entire wedding was designed on a massive scale, from the material decorations to the guest count, and was true to many Indian traditions. Vibrant colors, wonderful familial support, horseback entrances, parades, choreographed dances with dragons (yes — dragons!), beautiful and delicate henna, upbeat music…this wedding had it all, and Matt from Life Stage Films captured it perfectly on video. You’ll be tapping your feet by the end of this one — it’s a fun, exciting celebration of the couple’s love!

Southern Bride & Groom is excited to introduce a new blog series! On Tuesdays, we’ll have a post featuring a wedding-related video or videographer. For our first installment in the series, we’re highlighting Life Stage Films — a Wilmington-based videography team whose stunning productions will not only make you feel like you’re reliving your wedding day, but also completely capture your heart.
Life Stage Films is a team of talented videographers. They’ve been around since 2006, and have quickly established themselves as some of the top 25 event filmmakers in the world.
Since 2008, Life Stage has had the same logo — a giant oak tree — but recently, they’ve unveiled a new branding campaign, tweaking the original logo a bit and adding to the depth of customization available for each of their couples. The logo now features two intertwined oak trees, symbolizing the union of marriage and the promise of sharing a new life together, with a few leaves blowing away in the wind. The blowing leaves represent the fleeting moments the team is able to capture on film so that the couple can treasure them for the rest of their lives.
The team also improved the customization available for their clients. Now, each DVD package is personalized to be as unique as each couple — from the fonts and words used in the video’s intros to the color palettes and background music. The goal is to ultimately make the entire experience as “you” as possible!
Life Stage’s team sees themselves as storytellers, and will literally go anywhere and do anything to capture your love story. This week’s video features two of Wilmington’s best photographers — Matt (of Matt McGraw Photography) and Lisa (of Bella Rose Photography) — who tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Paris, France on April 24th, 2013. Matt and Lisa met at a conference for wedding professionals, where he sat next to her, and the two immediately hit it off. Lisa had always dreamed of a destination wedding in Paris, and Matt agreed to make her dreams a reality. They said “I do” in a park with an amazing view of the Eiffel Tower on a bright spring afternoon. After the ceremony, the couple participated in the Parisian tradition of adding a personalized lock to the Pont des Arts in Paris and throwing the key into the river. They ended the amazing day on a dinner boat cruise, with the lit Eiffel Tower as a backdrop.
Life Stage Films founder Matt documented the sweet occasion (we told you they’d go anywhere!), and the Life Stage team produced a stunning film…check it out below! Warning: Grab some tissues — this couple’s vows are simply unbelievable!

This is the third installation in our Engage!13 Recap Series. Engage! is the premiere luxury wedding business summit, and this year it was held at the historic Biltmore Estate right here in the mountains of beautiful North Carolina! Our very own Jenna Olender attended this year, and we’re so excited to share some of her experiences and these beautiful photos!
Engage! summits are well known throughout the wedding world as one of the best opportunities to network with other industry professionals, gain business insight from conference speakers and presenters, and experience some of the most over the top, lavish extravaganzas! To close out the wonderful three day event, attendees gathered on the Biltmore‘s South Terrace for a stunning (truly, truly stunning!) Great Gatsby-inspired Gala. Enjoy these beautiful photos and get inspired, especially if you’re planning an Art Deco, 1920′s-style wedding or event! Also, be sure to check out the video by I Do Films at the end of the post, featuring details of Day Three and special shots of the Gala!
A ton of behind-the-scenes work went into making this finale event so wonderful, and many, many vendors were involved in making the gala perfect! The tent, flooring and lighting was by Classic Event Rental, with floral designs by Karen Tran Floral and support by Blossoms at Biltmore Park. The chandeliers were courtesy of Signature Chandeliers, and the furniture and linens were by Nuage Designs. The event wardrobe and styling was by: The Stylish Dresser; The Bridal Suite at Nordstrom; Jennifer Behr; Johanna Johnson; Moyna Handbags; Charm & Chain; and Thomas Laine. Entertainment was provided by Carte Blanche, Vintage Burlesque & Cabaret, and Ray Jarrell Entertainment of Elan Artists; with fireworks by Pyrotechnico. The logo and accessories were courtesy of Gifts for the Good Life, the photo booth was from Love Life Images, and the custom aisle runner into the Biltmore House was from The Original Runner Company.
Tre Bella and the Washington Duke Inn have been working hard all week to get the space ready and finalize last minute details for this amazing night of food, fashion, fun and philanthropy. Check out this video by Twenty-One Films for more information, and get excited!
This year’s event will include a presentation by Emily Giffin, a New York Times Best Selling Author, a cocktail hour shopping experience, a book signing, and of course, a high-end fashion show. This year, we chose to highlight North Carolina’s beautiful fall weather — the perfect season for a Southern wedding! — in one of our styled photo shoots for the 2013 edition of Southern Bride & Groom.
We are so pleased to release the behind-the-scenes video by Life Stage Films. This video tribute is a look inside of what goes into the special details that really make a wedding unique to a couple. We strive to create details in our style shoots to inspire couples and help them find their ideal wedding look! A big thanks to the Matt Davis, owner of LSF, for hanging out during our shoot and his team for putting together this special video!
Our sweet couple, Becca Jane and Todd Cody (now Mr. and Mrs!) were the winners of our 25th Anniversary Photoshoot Contest. They married in June 2012 in Chapel Hill, and used a slew of SB&G vendors to make their big day special & unique. The newlyweds reside in Washington, DC, but drove down for this opportunity to relive their wedding day!
After Hurricane Sandy forced us to reschedule, SB&G had a blast doing this shoot on a warm and sunny November afternoon. Our team, including coordination by Erin McLean Events, brought together an elegant rustic theme to highlight our venue, Het Landhuis — a fabulous country estate with a barn and event space! We combined this year’s popular neutral shades with rusty reds and fresh verdant hues, and The English Garden florist arranged a wedding scene with their own decor doors and floral wreaths in Het Landhuis‘ designated ceremony location. We set a formal table in the banquet room of the romantic barn that boasts Dutch influence in its architecture and detailing.
Now, enjoy these photos from the shoot, shot by Cyn Kain Photography (some of these pics can also be seen in SB&G 2013). And y’all, get ready to fall in love, this shoot is amazing! SB&G would like to extend a special thank you to the rest of the team who made this shoot possible: Charlottes, Inc./Jewelry; Party Reflections/Chairs, Linens, China, Glassware; Traditions by Anna/Bridal Gown; Savvi Formalwear/Groom’s Suit; Beauty & The Bull Spa/Hair & Makeup; and Raleigh Cake Pops/Cake Pop Favors.
Setting the Scene in Silver
Imagine a wedding that leaves your guests speechless. Spheres of blossoms bubble up around a stunning hand-painted silver cake, and continue a cascade that flows over the sweetheart table, spilling into a pool of petals. Our bride sparkles in her glamorous gown with crystal embellishments — a statement of ultimate wedding elegance.
Southern Bride & Groom achieved a major milestone in 2012 — our 25th Anniversary as the Triangle’s most trusted bridal resource. We commemorated the occasion with a Silver Style Shoot at The Siena Hotel, a Tuscan-inspired boutique hotel in Chapel Hill. Its restaurant, Il Palio, is a four-diamond dining experience, and it caters all of their wedding events. The Siena is perfect for an intimate wedding or rehearsal dinner for up to 100 guests.
Congrats to The Siena Hotel and Douglas Carroll Salon & Spa, who are also celebrating their silver anniversary! And thanks to everyone else who helped make this shoot a gorgeous reality for our 2013 magazine: Sally Oakley Personalized Wedding Planning, Fresh Affairs, Sugarland, Party Reflections, Paper Cafe, Lana Addison Bridal & Charlotte’s.
