| Setting the Tone to Music
Music can be provided by an organist, pianist, guitarist, pipest, string quartet, harpist or be pre-recorded and played by a disc jockey (D.J.). You will want to select just what you want early on to book your choices. Any musician should be equipped to help you choose appropriate music. If you are being married in a church, do check with your minister about any policies regarding musical choices. Usually prelude music begins 30 minutes before the ceremony during the time when your guests are being seated. Traditionally, this is classical or religious music, but other types may be used as well. You may choose music for seating the mothers, a processional for your bridal party, a bridal processional, plus a recessional to signal the end of the ceremony. Many brides choose a reception that is much different from the ceremony. You may want to find a serenading violinist, a live band, or a D.J. to play all styles of your favorite music. This is the time to let your personality show! Most musicians have demo tapes, or will be glad to let you know when they will be playing so that you can listen first-hand. Whatever kind of music and musicians you choose, remember this is YOUR day, so get what you want! Discover the variety of Triangle Choices from our Music section of the Resource Directory.
