Happy Wedding Wednesday! It might be hot outside, but we’re enamored by Meg and Evan’s classy winter wedding at the Park Alumi Center on the North Carolina State University (NCSU) campus.
Meg and Evan met while working at summer camp at the YMCA. One of Meg’s best friends, who had worked with Evan in the past, knew they’d be a perfect match; when she ran into him at NC State graduation, she very confidently told him he was going to fall in love with Meg once he met her at staff training a few days later, and she was 100% right!
Evan’s proposal was a secret scavenger hunt adventure passing Meg around town with family and friends. She had brunch with sorority sisters, manicures with high school best friends, shopping with her sister, and a quick silly game with their former boss at the Y. The trip ended with a dog walk with one of their soon-to-be groomsmen to Lassiter Mill where their families and friends were all there to celebrate when he asked.
The couple enjoyed a long engagement with lots of time for planning and the ability to explore all options, making sure each vendor was just what they wanted. Sally Oakley Weddings and Events was key in making it all come together with a subtle North Carolina theme. “Sally’s experience and expertise was just what we needed to feel comfortable and confident every detail was taken care of. We honestly had no worries, and I know not every couple can say that about their wedding day!” shares Meg.
Gray is Meg’s favorite color and with a winter wedding, it was the perfect elegant and classy look.
Meeting and living in the capitol city made the grand ballroom of The Park Alumni Center a great fit for their wedding. The Center also worked with the couple to create a perfectly customized menu for their event and took the time to pack up each element of the meal for them to take and enjoy after the wedding.
Of course, there was also an appearance by the NC State wolfpack mascot who got involved in the bouquet toss.
Wedding photographer Casey Rose made everyone comfortable and was careful to get every shot Meg requested. “She was organized and kept us on track and having fun – I couldn’t be more pleased,” the bride adds.
