Southern Tradition at Duke Chapel Wedding

Happy Wedding Wednesday! Today, we’re thrilled to share one of the real weddings featured in Southern Bride & Groom’s 2017 magazine: Eliza and Matt who were married at the iconic Duke Chapel when it reopened after renovations.

Eliza Peak and Matt Truwit were participating in internships at the University of Virginia when their assignments brought them together. Business lunches became dinner dates, and by the fall, despite Matt returning to Duke University for school, the two began to date. Three years of long distance and ACC rivalry were followed by a joint move to Nashville for graduate school and career. Two years after that, Matt planned an elaborate scavenger hunt that left little doubt in Eliza’s mind what would come at the end – a beautiful proposal.

“We were so grateful to have A Southern Soiree every step of the way,” said Eliza. “They made sure everything went according to the timeline and were quick to help with any issues that arose. We highly recommend having a planner – I could not have planned this wedding without ours!”
