Carly & Lauren’s Outdoor Iron Horse Wedding
Carly and Lauren’s ethereal outdoor NC wedding at Iron Horse in Cedar Grove was other worldly. With their natural theme, sage green main wedding color and accents of pomegranate and blush, and warm ambience, it’s hard for anyone to not be jealous of this stunning day!
Carly and Lauren both went to college at Appalachian State in Boone, NC. However, they met through a mutual friend at a party after Lauren walked up to Carly and said “I just wanted to tell you, I think you’re really, really beautiful.” Two years later they met again and recalled the sweet memory between them. Carly shared, “Then the rest, as they say is history.”
While the couple discussed getting engaged and asking at the same time, Lauren had other plans for Carly. She surprised her on their anniversary with a bottle of wine, a basket filled with sweets, and a rendition of their first meal they ever made together. After a slight hiccup in the plan when Carly dropped the dinner on the floor, Lauren got down on one knee and proposed.
Getting Ready at Iron Horse House
Ceremony at Iron Horse in NC
The brides were most adamant about wanting everyone to feel warm and loved during the wedding day. The Iron Horse venue supplied just that with its unparalleled stunningly woodsy charm. Both the brides walked down the aisle together and had their “first look” moments before heading to the altar. Carly shared “It was really unique and special and something I’ll never forget.”
The brides were so pleased with the venue they chose. “The Iron Horse is the perfect hidden gem every bride looks for. The owner, Shannon, is unbelievable and will go the extra mile to make sure your entire weekend is relaxed and memorable,” shared Carly.
The couple could not have been more delighted with their photographer that they decided on to memorialize their special day. “Liz Charney, Trek and Bloom, is the most talented and sincere photographer I’ve ever met. She is genuine and calming,”shared Carly. The couple loved how she brought their vision to life with their photos and captured all the sweetest moments.
The couple’s main color to decorate the wedding day around was sage green. They used eucalyptus in lieu of florals to stay with the ambience that the Iron Horse naturally brings out. Their bridal bouquets and bridesmaids bouquets along with table decor were stunning eucalyptus leaves.
The wedding party was a beautifully untraditional group with their attire. With a mix of blush long dresses and suspenders with pomegranate and blush slacks, this wedding party is one for the books!
Outdoor Reception at Iron Horse
Both the ceremony and reception were outside at Iron Horse and the brides “buried the bourbon” in order to ward off the rain and bring the good weather for their special day. After 2 weeks of steady rain, the morning of their wedding day brought sunshine! Now their advice to any bride-to-be-readers is to, “always bury the bourbon!
