Fairytale Wedding at The Garden on Millbrook in Raleigh

It’s Wedding Feature Wednesday at Southern Bride & Groom! Today, we’re excited to share Melissa and Michael’s fairytale wedding at The Garden on Millbrook in Raleigh!

Melissa moved next door to Michael’s college bachelor’s pad in 2010. From the day she moved in, Michael had his eye on her, but not the courage to talk to her. Six months later, when Michael was visiting friends for a football game (and after a few drinks), he finally officially introduced himself. After many months of talking on the phone and frequent visits, the two began dating.

One evening, Michael took Melissa to the Angus Barn to sit at The Captain’s Table for what she thought was a late birthday dinner. After four courses of delicious food, the server brought a covered dish and said “the chef made a special dessert for tonight.” Michael opened the dish and there was a little red box in it…which could only mean one thing…it was time to plan a wedding!

The overall vision for the wedding was elegant and timeless – and The Garden on Millbrook provided the perfect backdrop! The bride and groom fell in love with the large crystal chandelier and the space immediately; they also appreciated the passion expressed by the planner to make their day beautiful and stress-free.

Classic white and green flowers by Fresh Affairs complimented the soft neutral colors and beautiful soft mint bridesmaid dresses.

The food, catered by The Garden on Millbrook, was fantastic according to the bride and groom. There was butler-passed hors d’oeuvres, including mac and cheese martinis, shrimp cocktail shooters, and mini beef wellingtons, and a salad bar. For buffet entrees there was chicken marsala, pecan crusted salmon and beef tenderloin with mashed potatoes and vegetable medley as sides.

The rehearsal dinner at Second Empire was also filled with unforgettable food like jumbo shrimp cocktail, premium black Angus beef filet mignon, grilled Scottish salmon and Second Empire Key Lime Pie, among other tasty treats!
