Happy Wedding Wednesday! Today, we’re thrilled to share Samantha and Tim’s luxurious downtown Raleigh wedding at The Stockroom at 230, complete with stunning portraits in The Glass Box – the venues’s onsite bridal suite.
Samantha and Tim met at Landmark bar in Raleigh, which might seem like a typical spot to meet someone, but the fact that the two of them were there together was pretty rare since Samantha doesn’t drink much or frequent bars and Tim had never been to Landmark before. On any other day, they would have missed their chance encounter.
In 2014, the couple went on a trip to the Bahamas. Tim made reservations at a restaurant at a different resort one night and reserved a private table to propose to Samantha…but it didn’t go as planned. When they got there, the waiter tried to seat them in regular dining room so Tim had to pull him aside and remind him about the private table, which made Samantha suspicious. Then, when the waiter came, he didn’t know Tim was proposing (even though Tim had given the hotel a heads up), so he asked if there was a special occasion, but Tim couldn’t let the cat out of the bag yet. To get some privacy, they headed outside in the dark, with no light, overlooking the ocean where Tim could ask the question he’d been waiting to ask. Of course, she still said “yes!”
Their wedding venue, The Stockroom at 230, has lots of natural charm and is complete with a stunning bridal suite, The Glass Box, which overlooks the city of Raleigh from above.
The draped fabric backdrop for the ceremony gave the space an elegant and luxurious look, which was striking and unique, highlighting the large windows. Crystal chandeliers and lighting from Get Lit cast a soft glow above the bride and groom.
Both the bride and groom got their own adorable cakes created by Catering Works; purple pom-poms for Samantha and a football-inspried treat for Tim.
Because Samantha claims she “cries at everything,” they decided to hand write their vows and exchange them during the first look. This ended up being her favorite moment because it was just the two of them, alone, on the most special day, professing their love for each other.
Sally Oakley was the planner who put the whole look together. According to the bride, “Sally had an answer or suggestion for everything, if not, she would figure out a solution! She kept everything running smoothly and on track so I didn’t have to lift a finger day-of. I actually miss working with her now that the wedding is over, but will definitely recommend her to friends who are looking for a wedding planner!”
Luckily, the wedding went a lot smoother than this couple’s proposal! It was a day filled with happy smiles, tears (of joy), and memories they’ll never forget.
