It’s Wedding Feature Wednesday at SB&G! Today, we have a stunning Real North Carolina Wedding to share with you all. Kate and Angel tied the knot at Het Landhuis in Pittsboro, NC on May 25th!
Kate and Angel met through an online dating site, and immediately knew that they shared the same aspirations for marriage and family in the near future. The couple began dating, and on the eve of the ‘Mayan Apocalypse’ in December, they went out in Durham for a “last meal”. Angel took Kate to the restaurant where they’d had their first date for dessert, and popped the question on the cafe’s courtyard under the Carolina night sky.
The couple knew that they wanted a pastoral setting with European flair for their big day, so when they found Het Landhuis, they knew it was perfect! Het Landhuis is nestled on 62 acres of beautiful land on the outskirts of Pittsboro, NC. The original homestead was built in 1901, and the country home and seven outbuildings were restored over a 14 year period to embrace Dutch influences. Kate and Angel highlighted the beautiful, rich colors of the venue with a light and neutral color palette of turquoise, caramel and ivory. Angel is Bulgarian, so the duo included traditional customs, decorations and food to reflect his heritage (you’ll see how detail-oriented the wedding was in the photos below!)
Kate and Angel were inspired by the Real Wedding looks in Southern Bride & Groom, and used many members of the SB&G Family to make their wedding day perfect, including: Het Landhuis, Barbara Lodge, Tre Bella Bridal, Bernard’s Formalwear, f8 in Motion and Edible Art.
The newlyweds live and work in Durham, where he conducts research at Duke University and she practices as a midwife. Congrats, Kate and Angel, your wedding was beautiful!! A special thanks to Annemie Tonken of Megapixie for the stunning photographs!
