Rustic NC Wedding at The Rand-Bryan House
Rustic weddings soared into popularity many years ago, but we believe that in the South, they will never go out of style. Likewise, outdoor weddings on North Carolina farm venues will forever remain a win. The Rand Bryan-House, a country home turned wedding venue on a farm near Raleigh NC, provided that warm, homey feeling for Sarah and Ryan. This couple knew they wanted their wedding to feel welcoming with a vintage rustic vibe. With the creative touch of the bride, the summer colors of pinks and turquoise accents on the invitations and wooden decorations, mixed with the beautiful scenery of the venue, the couple hosted a lovely rustic NC wedding at The Rand-Bryan House.
Southern Bride & Groom magazine has worked with The Rand-Bryan House for many years. We think it is a wonderful place for Raleigh couples who are seeking a simple, Southern outdoor wedding in a picturesque setting. The wedding party can takeover the property and get ready onsite, and make use of the indoor and outdoor space as they desire. We hope you’ll enjoy learning more about them below, and we know you’ll also love the beautiful images by one of the Southern Bride & Groom magazine preferred photographers, Bronwyn Duffield Photography. Now, onto the story!
Sarah & Ryan’s Love Story
Sarah and Ryan met at a mutual friend’s Cinco de Mayo party. Once they were introduced they only had eyes for each other. After the party, Ryan, like the gentleman he is, walked Sarah to her car – where they stood until 4am talking! Neither of them wanted to say goodbye until a local patrolling police officer drove by and asked them to move along. They didn’t let that stop them from continuing their connection! After that night, the rest was history.
Rustic Raleigh NC Wedding Venue, The Rand-Bryan House
The Rand-Bryan House wedding venue is located right outside of Raleigh in Garner. Owned and operated by a husband and wife team, it is a 19th Century indoor and outdoor NC wedding and reception venue that brings together elegance with a rustic farm-style. The historic venue is a Southern couple’s dream location, with its simple charm, romantic scenery and affordable packages. With a modernized indoor space that still holds the beauty of its history, Sarah and Ryan fell in love with the space.
Sarah shared, “The Rand-Bryan House was the perfect choice for us. The venue is intimate, beautiful and full of Southern charm, with plenty of options for both outdoor and indoor events. The owner, Martha, could not be more kind or accommodating to us while planning their big day.”
Pre-Wedding at The Rand-Bryan House
The bride and her gorgeous gal pals were able to get ready in the picturesque space of The Rand-Bryan House. The oversized windows and simple decor of the country Raleigh area wedding venue allow for a lovely backdrop for bridal portraits, first looks, and of course, the getting ready time for the bride and her bridesmaids – this is one advantage of the Rand-Bryan House as a wedding venue. While they shared mimosas and photos, the bride donned a white robe and bridesmaids wore turquoise robes to match the wedding’s color palette.
Sarah wore the gorgeous lace “Melanie” gown by Maggie Sottero with a traditional v-neck neckline. For a Southern touch, she paired it with a romantic silk ribbon around her waist. The ribbon matched perfectly with the bridesmaids’ dresses that were in a sweet shade of blush – a forever popular color choice for bridesmaids for Raleigh NC weddings. The ladies took their bridal party portraits on the beautiful grounds of the Rand-Bryan House.
The groomsman took their portraits outdoors as well. They looked dapper in three piece suits in a sharp shade of grey. They incorporated the summer colors of the wedding into their attire with a bright shade of turquoise, a blush flower boutonniere and a bright paisley pattern pocket square.
Outdoor First Look at The Rand-Bryan House
Since so much of the beauty of The Rand-Bryan House is in the outdoor countryside, you guessed it – the couple took advantage of the scenery for their first look. The amazing photos captured by Bronwyn Duffield Photography (more on her below) are basking in light and it’s so easy to see the love radiating between this couple.
Outdoor Rustic NC Wedding at The Rand-Bryan House
When Sarah and Ryan got engaged, they easily decided on hosting an outdoor summer wedding. They made this dream come true with their rustic NC wedding at The Rand-Bryan House. While they do have a gorgeous indoor ceremony space with lots of light, this event and wedding venue is known for their beautiful lush green backdrops all around their property that is picture perfect for your outdoor wedding ceremony. (And FYI – it is not just beautiful in the summertime – there is even a grove of evergreens for your winter wedding photo-opp!)
Sarah trusted her creative intuition with the wedding decor and did most of decorating herself. She shared, “I wanted to go with a romantic, vintage rustic vibe for my wedding. Classy but comfortable at the same time. We chose lots of burlap and lace. We went with bright, warm colors that were perfect for a summer wedding in NC!”
Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill Wedding Photographer, Bronwyn Duffield Photography
Sarah and Ryan chose Bronwyn Duffield Photography to capture the special moments of their rustic romantic wedding at The Rand-Bryan House. Bronwyn and her team of wedding photographers are based out of Chapel Hill and serve the Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill NC area.
There is something so special about the way Bronwyn captures a wedding. Each photo encapsulates the romance and passion a couple has on their wedding day. Her warm and airy style is perfect for any bride, Southern or beyond! She is a local Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill expert in fine film wedding photography, and is a hybrid photographer, meaning she can shoot weddings in digital, on film, or a mix of both. She is also just lovely to be around, which is very important on your wedding day – you’ll be spending a lot of time with your photographer! Clearly, we at SB&G magazine are fans – she’s been in the magazine three years and has already taken the photograph we chose for two of our NC wedding magazine covers.
We love the way Bronwyn documented this rustic NC wedding at The Rand-Bryan House. Not only does the couple’s love shine through, but Bronwyn captured all of the details that Sarah herself crafted. We know Sarah and Ryan will choose these timeless photographs forever!
