From the Mountains to the Sea, a Down to Earth Love Story
Every year thousands of people flock to the Appalachian mountains in fall to catch a glimpse of the leaves as they change colors. Fiery oranges, reds, and yellows cover the mountain sides from every angle. Hiking trails on the Blue Ridge Parkway or stopping in Boone for a day of brewery hopping and shopping is a great way to catch up with friends and family – and that is just what Ryan and Emily were doing when they first met! It was on one of those mountain weekend trips with mutual friends that the two singles hit it off and became a North Carolina couple.
Ryan proposed to Emily at one of their favorite Wilmington pizza and brewery spots. With a live acoustic guitar player performing their song in the backdrop – “You Are The Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne, Ryan reached into his pocket and pulled out an engagement ring. Emily gave the love of her life a tearful “yes.” Three months later Ryan and Emily danced to that same love song and shared a special moment of reflection of their wedding journey.

Bride Emily’s wedding dress was a vision of soft, angelic satin floating in the sweet Wilmington sunshine. Sheer sleeves and backing gave the wedding dress a modern and elegant bridal look. Delicate white and green flowers placed in Emily’s wedding hair completed her whimsical, garden theme attire. Ryan looked dashing in a charcoal blue suit with a fantastic, floral print bow tie. Like many modern couples, Emily and Ryan chose not to have bridesmaids and groomsmen on their wedding day. This modern wedding trend eliminates extra wedding day stress or drama, and keeps the focus on the bride and groom’s love for one another.

“Make decisions together and don’t forget to have fun! Ryan and I planned everything together so that our wedding was a representation of us as a couple.
