Southern Bride & Groom recently attended an event produced by our Triangle Chapter of NACE (National Association of Catering & Events) that was hosted at one of our most beautiful local wedding venues and featured a very unique event design that would be beautiful for a Southern wedding!
The event was a beer-pairing dinner at the upscale Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, NC. Angie Wright of Chic Details Weddings & Events planned a unique design, which transformed the country club’s majestic ballroom into an intimate, rustic space. Total Production Services set up market lights from a central floral display, Classic Party Rentals arranged a unique seating area with rustic farm tables, SPIN entertained guests with music, and Fresh Affairs designed decadent, lush table-length garland arrangements filled with greens.
Attendees enjoyed an amazing three-course dinner, each one accompanied by a beer from Mystery Brewing. The first course was a roast breast of duck pastrami with a cheddar biscuit, pickled onion slaw, and a Dijon and chopped egg dressing paired with Mystery Brewing’s Locksley Ordinary Bitter.
The second course was grilled peach with barbequed jumbo lump crab and grilled shrimp with Roquefort drizzle, served with Mystery Brewing’s Beatrix Spring Saison.
The third course was beer braised pork belly with local fried oysters and a sweet potato and date puree, paired with Mystery Brewing’s Queen Anne’s Revenge Carolina Dark Ale.
Attendees had the choice of several decadent desserts, including: beignets with caramel sauce, dark chocolate espresso mousse, macaroons, biscotti, and black and tan beer ice cream, all accompanied by Mystery Brewing’s Jack Thorne London Portor.
A huge thanks to Joe Payne Photography for all of the beautiful photographs of this amazing event!
